
Golden Crispy-Fluffy Vegan Waffles
Crisp on the outside and tender on the inside, these easy vegan waffles come together fast using simple pantry staples. Serve them hot topped with maple syrup and fresh fruit.
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the waffle maker
Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Step 2: Combine dry ingredients
Sift the flour into a mixing bowl. Whisk in the sugar, baking powder and salt until evenly blended.
Step 3: Add wet ingredients
Pour in the soy milk, melted coconut oil and vanilla. Stir just until a smooth batter forms—be careful not to overmix, or the waffles will be tough.
Step 4: Grease and fill
Lightly brush or spray the hot waffle plates with a little oil. Pour in enough batter to cover the grid (check your machine’s manual for the exact amount) and close the lid.
Step 5: Cook the waffles
Cook for 3–5 minutes, or until the steam stops rising and the waffle is golden and crisp. Repeat with the remaining batter.
Step 6: Serve
Serve warm with maple syrup and fresh fruit. (Tip: Keep cooked waffles crisp in a low oven, directly on the rack, while you finish the batch).
